One success story at a time…
A senior financial administrator was recently promoted to Chief Financial Officer. She had successfully turned the financial operations around from a $30 million deficit position to a modest profit level. The organization engaged Dr. Frank Williams to support her as she assumed her new role. Using the results of one-on-one interviews, personal questionnaire, and series of assessments as the starting point, the CFO and Dr. Williams identified communication skills, emotional IQ and peer-to-peer interactions as her key challenges.
Each weekly session began with the CFO-initiated review of her most effective interactions and communication successes during the prior week. Next, the session moved to assessing her challenges from the previous week. From these discussions, the CFO and her coach detailed the most pressing issues and decided on how best to respond and manage those issues at hand. Dr. Williams served as her thought partner, with the CFO taking full ownership of her actions and the situations while her coach posed the critical questions to guide her through her own thought process to arrive at solutions and set a course action. Over the six month engagement, the CFO enhanced her communication skills, improved her positive relationships with the leadership team, raised her level of confidence in her leadership abilities, and elevated her emotional IQ. She is now taking her rightful place as a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, confident and ready to lead.
